Mortal Shell 2 Beginner Guide: First-Hour Route
Follow a practical Mortal Shell 2 opening route: secure Proxima or Tiel, recover the first Tarforge part and start Fainweald before Mammon.
Get a body before roaming
After the Harros prologue, prioritize one of the two map-marked Shells. Tiel is southeast of Widow’s Overlook; Proxima is northeast of Blackridge Pass inside Shattered Beacon.
Recover the Muradean Actuator
Open the first chest inside Village Outskirts Beacon and take the Muradean Actuator to Franz at the Marrowkeep Tarforge. This opens melee weapon upgrading and prevents an easy early progression detour.
Clear Fainweald before forcing Mammon
Work through the Fainweald gates and feed recovered Ova into the Marrowkeep siphon. The visible route toward Mammon remains corruption-gated until the world-state requirements are met.
Spend for the build you are using
Shell points can move, but spent Glimpses do not refund. Upgrade a weapon and Shell you can already play consistently before investing in a theoretical late-game combination.
Know when to leave a branch
Leave a dungeon when the current reward does not solve the next route problem. Return to Marrowkeep with the first Shell, Muradean Actuator and one reliable weapon before opening optional branches; the map keeps those branches available for cleanup.
