Mortal Shell 2 Night Mode: Gloombound Flame Route
Find the Gloombound Flame, unlock Thestus at Marrowkeep and switch Mortal Shell 2 between day and higher-reward night.
Find the Gloombound Flame
Travel directly south of Widow’s Overlook Beacon. The Flame rests on a stone pillar behind the Great Arbiter of Flesh miniboss location; mark the return path before turning the route into a cleanup loop.
Unlock Thestus at Marrowkeep
Return to Marrowkeep, take the elevator to the roof and use the Gloombound Flame on the golden lantern beside the fire. This summons Thestus and makes the day/night switch available without spending a combat resource.
Use night mode deliberately
Night raises enemy pressure and the launch guide reports increased drops and hidden areas, including a Tarstone vendor. Switch after the Shell, Seal and weapon pairing is stable; it is a resource and exploration mode, not a required story difficulty.
Make a day-versus-night checklist
Use day for route learning and first clears, then return at night for hidden areas, higher-reward farming or Tarstone cleanup. If the enemy pressure costs more healing and Gloom than the target is worth, switch back and keep the marker on the later pass.
