How unique Shell actives, talent trees, movable Shell points and non-refundable Glimpses fit together.
Know what belongs to the Shell
A named Shell combines a unique active with a talent tree. The current notes identify Tiel’s Lingering Shadow, Proxima’s Bio Sampler, Eredrim’s break tools, Gragu’s Staggering Blow, Smert’s Miracle, Sariel’s thorns and Lazlo’s Retribution.
Move points, not Glimpses
Shell points can be refunded and moved within the unlocked progression tree. Glimpses deepen a Shell and do not refund, so one resource is a testable build adjustment and the other is a permanent commitment.
Build around an encounter job
Choose the job before spending deeply: mobility and dodge, heavy stagger, sustain, burst, summon distraction or recovery. The strongest-looking active is less useful than a body whose failure state you can survive against the next boss.
Use the Shellkeeper for the next decision
Ability unlocks are handled at the Shellkeeper in Marrowkeep. Review the tree after a real route or boss exposes a problem, then move refundable points first and reserve permanent Glimpses for the body you intend to carry into later cycles.
Spend permanent resources after a real test
Shell guides agree that refundable Shell points are for testing a job, while Glimpses are the permanent investment. Run the active and defensive fallback against one boss or route problem first, then spend the rare resource on the Shell you will carry into the next cycle.
