Mortal Shell 2 Where to Go First: A No-Backtracking Opening
The shortest useful opening route from Harros to Marrowkeep, a first Shell, the first Tarforge part and the Fainweald gates.
Finish the prologue with a purpose
Use Harros to learn the core combat loop, then reach Marrowkeep without spending time on late-world routes. The first goal is a stable hub, not a perfect build.
Choose Proxima or Tiel
Proxima is the shortest open-world pickup route from the marked opening area; Tiel is the early dodge-focused alternative. Choose one body and return to the route rather than collecting every option immediately.
Take the Muradean Actuator
Open the first Village Outskirts Beacon chest and bring the Muradean Actuator to Franz at the Marrowkeep Tarforge. This removes a common early detour from every later weapon decision.
Clear Fainweald before Mammon
Complete the Fainweald gates, recover Ova and check the keep before forcing the visible Mammon road. This order keeps boss, Shell and weapon routes attached to the correct progression state.
Use clean session stopping points
Good stopping points are Marrowkeep after unlocking the Tarforge, a cleansed Beacon after choosing a Shell, and the keep after a Fainweald gate. Save those checkpoints in your checklist so the next session starts with a clear route instead of another blind search.
